We've
been in the Evergreen Florist
business since the Christmas season
of 1985. What a learning curve
we've gone through over the years -
like thinking you're skiing downhill
on the bunny slope, only to discover
someone switched signs and we're
really on the advanced trail!
Willamette Evergreen was the
brainchild of
Ed Hallett and Dennis Kyllo,
owners of Oregon Evergreen, Inc. - a
Christmas tree company that ships to
the U.S. and offshore markets
worldwide - including Singapore,
Malaysia, Hong Kong and Mexico. Our
customers were constantly inquiring
about wreath and garland makers -
and, in the great American tradition
we decided to take the plunge. We
were in full control of our new
venture - until Ed made a chance
phone call to the buying office of
K-Mart's mid-Atlantic regional
office! He was handed the order to
fill their stores from Maine to
North Carolina with hand crafted
wreaths. Life has never been the
same! We met the challenge and
never looked back.
Over
the years business has grown because
we enjoy being actively involved in
the most ancient custom of
wreathmaking and creating evergreen
floral designs. We've become quite
adept at integrating our operation
with the most sophisticated retail
operations in the world, while also
working alongside the most
heartwarming nonprofit organizations
to support juvenile delinquent
education, child abuse prevention,
athletic equipment and travel.
The
journey of our hand crafted
evergreen products to your
customers' front door begins in the
quiet of the mountain tops, and
continues here at our factory
located in the heart of Christmas
tree country, Canby, Oregon. Part
of the year we appear to be a small,
quiet company since we only grow and
produce products for the Christmas
season. Come October when the
temperature begins dropping, we
suddenly grow into the largest
employer in town. Think mountains
of noble fir boughs, pungent fir
scents, fingers flying, a frenzy of
highly focused chaos - all of us
working to bring your customers the
traditional symbols of holiday
peace. Whew!
To
see how our products are created,
please check out the FAQ/Questions
links above. We've provided lots of
information on how things around
here are done, and we really think
you'll find them interesting. Its
an amazing journey the evergreens
follow to the store, that all starts
up on top of a mountain. |
