Oregon Evergreen, sister company of Willamette Evergreen
We are a
family owned tree operation
that believes our products will satisfy the urge of people
worldwide to decorate at year-end. We began in 1984 when the Kyllo and Hallett families decided to join in partnership;
the Kyllo's bringing experience in farming and harvest
management and the Hallett's in nursery sales and shipping.
We named our partnership Oregon Evergreen because from the
first year our selling territory stretched from New York
City all the way across the Pacific basin to Singapore. Our
name and our products speak to the fact that the nicest
conifers for Christmas are grown in Oregon and our company
program supplies the nicest of the conifers in Oregon.
Furthermore we are responding to two
clear desires in the marketplace – the desire among
homeowners for the best symbol of family warmth and
generosity, the Christmas tree and the desire of homeowners
at the end of the year to decorate their homes in holiday
and winter colors. We help retailers and nonprofit
organizations looking for ways to satisfy these twin
desires.
Most of our tree fields are in the area
surrounding Molalla, at town that is about 35 miles
southeast of Portland and at the edge of the Cascade
Mountain range. Historically Molalla developed as a
community of growers and foresters and it is from this mixed
group just two generations ago that the idea of growing
Christmas trees as a farm crop – instead of at the edge of a
conifer forest – was born.
As a medium-sized business we haven’t
lost sight of the fact that the most satisfying transaction
is one which is mutually beneficial to seller and buyer and
final customer. Please take a moment to review photos of
crops we have shipped in the very recent past. Beginning the
end of August we will add photos of this year’s crop and you
will be able to follow us through final pruning and
harvesting and loading – and watching how we attempt to stay
dry!
